About Geraldine HIckey
As Geraldine repeatedly observed new parents anxiously escorting their newborns home, she realized they were acutely unaware of how to respond if their infant stopped breathing or choked. Geraldine made it her mission to educate and enable these parents to react in those crucial first minutes of an emergency, before medical help arrives.
Geraldine established Baby Zone and Beyond and her award winning instructional video: “Saving Baby’s Life…When Every Second Counts” to reach the thousands of parents and caretakers she could not personally guide and teach.
A native of Ireland, Geraldine graduated from nursing and midwifery school in Dublin in 1983 with a focus on neonatal intensive care. Following a brief term of nursing in Saudi Arabia, Geraldine moved to New Jersey in 1985 where she has worked for the Neonatal Unit at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ for the past 25 years.
Personally, Geraldine takes her commitment to health very seriously as a fitness enthusiast and runner of the New York City Marathon and numerous half marathons.
Geraldine’s goal is to ensure the importance of infant safety and wellness is spread to every household possible… saving one life at a time.
